BPAC Mission Statement
To serve the Baruch community by introducing the performing arts into all aspects of Baruch College life, including the interests of the students, faculty, staff and Alumni. Baruch Performing Arts Center achieves this goal through performing arts programming and allied activities that support and enrich the educational curriculum through out the college, as well as, by opening new areas of interest to promote growth of the students as individuals educated for life as well as work, while encouraging the faculty, staff, alumni and general public to become engaged as audience and supporters.
Operations
Programming for the Baruch community:
The BPAC staff, in consultation with the BPAC Advisory Committee, set programming that reflect the various interests of the college, including academic departments, college administration, advancement and student life. Through its management services, the BPAC supports programming on an individual basis such as: Great Works Readings, the Silberman Concert Series, the Alexander String Quartet Residency and the Sidney Harmon Writer in Residence program.
Space allocation and management assistance within the Baruch Community:
When appropriate and financially feasible, the BPAC will accommodate requests by various departments, student life organizations and interested individuals of the Baruch Community to use performing arts spaces in the Marvin Anotonowsky Performing Arts Complex to further the mission of the college as a whole. As part of the use of space, BPAC staff will advise and assist when possible in event management, including budgeting, marketing and technical assistance.
Rentals to outside users:
Rentals serve the BPAC and the college as they generate income to support BPAC activities and augment programming that further increase the offerings available to Baruch students, faculty and staff. The BPAC's selective and creative rental policy often secures special tickets to rental events, master classes, guest speakers, lecture demonstrations and other types of enriching activities for the Baruch Community.
