Journalism and the Writing Professions
The new Journalism Major includes specializations in Journalism and Creative Writing, and Business Journalism. Whether you’re interested in a career in journalism, management, communications, entertainment, business, public service, or law, the Journalism Major can help advance your career. You will improve your writing ability while learning to access and evaluate necessary information and data. You will also learn to communicate effectively and publish accurately and responsibly, whether online, in print, or over the air waves.
Harnisch Foundation Donates
$1 Million to Department
Both specializations provide students with an understanding of journalism’s critical role in democratic society. The program also presents the opportunity for students to minor in journalism in order to improve dramatically their research and writing abilities.
